Preamble:
The Urban Development Department, Government of Karnataka has notified the draft “KarnatakaMunicipalities Model Building Bve-laws 2017". applicable to all the Municipalities in the state vide notification No.UDD 14 TTP2017(P-3), Dt.11.07.2017. The Government also notified the“KarnatakaMunicipal Corporations Model Building Bve-laws2017” applicable to all the Municipal Corporations in the state vide notification No.UDD14 TTP 2017(P-3)Dt.11.07.2017.
As part of the requirement under Business Reform Action Plan 2017, there has to be a uniform building code / building by-law applicable to the entire state.
Hence this order,

Accordingly,Government has publishedthe Model Building Bve-Laws for the Urban Areas, vide Notification-I No.UDD 14 TTP 2017(P-4) Dt:28.10.2017,which are applicable to Municipal Corporations and vide Notification-II, No.UDD 14 TTP 2017(P-4), Dt:28.10.2017, which are applicable to Municipalities.

Whereas, the draft of the Karnataka Municipalities Model Building Bye-Laws, 2017 was published as required by sub-section (1) of 325 of the Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964 (Karnataka Act 22 of 1964) in Notification No. UDD 14 TTP 2017 (P-3), dated: 11.07.2017 in Part-IVA of the Karnataka extra-ordinary Gazette, No. 687, dated: 15.07.2017 inviting objections and suggestions from all the persons likely to be affected thereby within one month from the date of its publication in the official Gazette.
And whereas, the said Gazette was made available to the public on 15.07.2017.
And whereas, objections and suggestions have been received in this behalf and considered by the State Government.
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 325 of the Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964 (Karnataka Act 22 of 1964) the Government of Karnataka hereby makes the following building bye-laws namely:-
